We Play Games
Chad and I met sometime in the summer of 2006 at my cousin Holly’s apartment in Bloomington, IN. I was about to begin my senior year of college at Ball State University, and I was visiting Holly and her husband David for the weekend. When I got there on Saturday morning, David mentioned that one of his work buddies was going to come over that evening to eat pizza and play Cranium with us. I remember distinctly having the feeling that I was being set up; but I pushed away my annoyance, and ended up having a great time. Chad and David were hilarious Cranium teammates. At one point, Chad used David’s body as a guitar. Not to be outdone, Holly and I were pretty awesome teammates–I vividly remember miming a diaper change on Holly’s prone body. To this day, I have a short video of David running around the apartment–which we later realized was his portrayal of “Sugar High.” All in all, it was a good evening.
Unbeknownst to me, the following Monday, Chad started questioning David: Where’s she live? When’s she coming back to visit?
Luckily for Chad (and me), his vague wishes for a reunion came true just over a year later.
