Sushi Love
So here’s the deal. I like food. Any kind of food. I am willing to try just about anything once, and will generally give it a second chance, if the first experience was less than stellar.
While I was stationed in Hawaii, I was introduced to sushi and sashimi, and was immediately hooked. Sushi is vinegared rice, usually topped with a variety of fish, meats, and/or vegetables. Most people recognize it when it is rolled in seaweed, it’s most distinctive serving style. Sashimi is simply raw, very fresh, fish. It is sometimes served with shredded radish, or some other garnish. Now these are not the most exotic of foods, but is still a larger culinary experience then some people want to try.
Meg, being the modern, hip, girl she is, and me, trying like hell to act like I was cool, had been conversing through Gmail chat one day, and I asked her if she would be interested in going out for Sushi sometime. To my delight and amazement, she said yes. It was a date.
