More About Us . . .

Meg and Chad prepare to tie the knot on October 3, 2009. This blog chronicles their journey to the altar.

Planning Update . . .

We are more than half-way through the planning of the wedding now. The ceremony and reception will be held at a small country church outside of Bloomington. More details to follow.

The Dress

It hasn’t been purchased as of yet, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be this one:

Mori Lee, Style 2105, Ivory

I didn’t really expect to like a dress like this–strapless, longish train, corset back, etc.–but I do. It looks really good on me, I think. (And my mommy thinks so, too!)

Some other contenders:

Tea-length dress (I would get pearl, instead of the stark white)

Mori Lee, Destination/Voyage: 6172, Pearl

This one has the most adorable top–the ruffle and the bow are so cute!

Maggie Solterro Dress, Tabrett Marie (Ivory/Vienna Cream)

This one is so dreamy and flowy.

Allure Bridals, 8550, ivory

This one is heavy, but makes me feel GLAM.

Maggie Sottero, Mirabella, Ivory

So, which one do you like best?

    The cheapest. ;)

I like the GLAM one! And the one before it. However, the photos for the first one didn’t show up.

  3. Meredith Says:

I can’t see the first one, that you say you’ll probably get, but I love the tea-length one, and the one with the ruffle & bow at the top! SOOOO pretty!

  4. Tammy Says:

i can’t see the first one either. i like the glam one–but since it is heavy, it could make you pass out :-(

  5. Holly Says:

Well, the shortest one has my vote!

  6. Christine Says:

I can’t see the first one either. So I vote shortest, too!

Personally, I prefer the Allure Bridals, 8550, ivory dress myself. I think the short one looks too casual (but I think you said you weren’t going for a ‘formal’ style wedding), and I think the detailing along the bottom makes it look kind of lingerie-ish…Just so I’m not all negative nelly on you, I do think the bodice on the tea length is beautiful.

You asked for my opinion ;-)

Now that I’ve seen the first one, I kind of like it better than the glam one! It looks kind of uncomfortable, though.

  9. Meredith Says:

    WOW!!
I can finally see all the pictures, and I LOVE IT!
Much fancier than I would’ve expected you to go for… but absolutely gorgeous!!
I still like the other two though. You have good taste :)

  10. Jessica Says:

So so so so so so pretty! I LOVE them, Meg. Can you wear them all?

The cut and that bodice sash thing on the top one are gorgeous, and I bet it’s so flattering, and it would look so pretty with what you’ve described to me of the ceremony.

I can’t wait to see which one you choose for sure. Even though it seems like a big decision, after it’s made it’ll be easy to look pretty and enjoy it! You will make any of those dresses a knockout, not the other way around.

  11. Karen Says:

Just wear the one that makes you look the best! I love the first and the last is very pretty too. The bow ruffle is cute. The flowy one doesn’t look fancy but it’s hard to tell in pictures. We have to see them on you!!! Can we have a fashion show!!

  12. Cindy Says:

    Hi Meg,
Did you try the mori lee tea length dress on? What did you think? I’m desperately trying to find that one to try on! Best wishes for your upcoming wedding!

Cindy–I did try the Mori Lee tea-length dress on, and it was lovely. It is a good look if you are going for a less formal ceremony or maybe an outdoor ceremony/reception. I think it comes in ivory and bright white. Good luck!
